Sir Gino is the hot favourite to win the Grade 2 contest over 2m1f as he’s been absolutely flying for trainer Nicky Henderson.

Despite a year off came back to win the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton well ahead of Golden Ace last time out.

He was briefly sent off for his chase debut the year prior in the same meeting at Kempton but connections and trainer have opted for this hurdle route with the races wide open for him to strike.

Sir Gino’s biggest and only real opponent according to the odds is The New Lion, trained by Harry Skelton.

The JP McManus-owned horse was unbeaten until falling at Newcastle in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle.

He was winning at the point of falling two out against Golden Ace, Anzadam, Nemean Lion and the already fallen Constitution Hill.
