Celtics’ Jaylen Brown turning into ‘monster’ amid doubters, Giannis trade buzz intensifying
The basketball world is waiting with anticipation to see if Jaylen Brown might be traded from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Celtics are coming off a blown 3-1 lead in the first round of the playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers that made it clear a change was needed this summer in Boston.
Recently, Brown took to Twitch to live stream some of his ongoing excursion to Europe, and during the broadcast, he spoke on how he is using the trade rumors swirling around him as motivation.
“That just gives more fuel to the fire…To all the people that’s doubted me, that want me to do this, or want me gone, you’re turning me into a monster,” he said, per Daniel Donabedian of Celtics Wire on X, formerly Twitter.
Jaylen Brown spoke about his social media feed yesterday and how he’s “grateful” for the negativity on it:

Brown had the best season of his career with Boston in 2025-26, leading the team to the second seed in the Eastern Conference despite Jayson Tatum being out of the lineup for most of the campaign. However, all of the good will that the Celtics built up in what was supposed to be a gap year was quickly erased when the team lost three straight games to blow their series against the 76ers, which had fans immediately thinking an Antetokounmpo trade could be on the horizon.
The only way for the Celtics realistically to pull off such a deal would be to part ways with Brown, who is on one of the heftiest salaries in the NBA and has hinted at his desire to be a number one option.
In any case, it could be a busy next 30 hours before the NBA Draft.
