Celtics’ Jaylen Brown snaps back at media ‘click bait’ after Joel Embiid flopping criticism
The Boston Celtics recently saw their season come to a brutal end with a Game 7 loss at home to the Philadelphia 76ers after blowing a 3-1 lead in the series. The Celtics had an admirable season in what was thought by many to be a gap year, but that might end up being overshadowed in the history books by the playoff collapse.
The very next day, Jaylen Brown took to Twitch to live stream his reaction to the game after a rough personal performance, breaking down several plays and accusing 76ers big man Joel Embiid of flopping.
However, now, Brown has taken to X, formerly Twitter, to hit back at those who criticized him for the live stream.
“Click bait is like flopping for the media exaggerating contact yall be safe out here,” wrote Brown.
All told, it doesn’t seem that Brown is taking the loss very well.
Brown had the best season of his career for the Celtics this year, more than holding down the fort in the absence of Jayson Tatum, until the star unexpectedly returned in March after suffering an Achilles tear less than a year earlier.
Brown put up career highs across the board, but his rough Game 7 performance in Tatum’s absence conjured up unfortunate memories of his Game 7 against the Miami Heat in 2023, a game in which he also struggled as the number one option with Tatum hobbled.
In any case, it doesn’t seem that Brown will be relenting on his criticism of either Embiid or the media anytime soon.
