CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens go back-to-back in ESPN WR rankings

The Dallas Cowboys have Super Bowl ambitions for the 2026 season. Dallas made some systematic changes on defense that could really move the needle later this fall. The Cowboys all have arguably the NFL’s best wide receiver duo to power their offense.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler published the site’s annual wide receiver rankings on Wednesday. To compile the list, ESPN sourced feedback from several NFL executives, coaches, and scouts.

Cowboys fans may not be surprised to learn that both CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens made the list this year. In fact, Lamb and Pickens went back-to-back in sixth place and seventh place.

Lamb had a down season in 2025 after suffering an ankle injury early in the season. He seemingly never got back to full strength, posting his lowest stats since the 2020 in most categories. Lamb finished the regular season with 75 receptions for 1,077 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Still, multiple sources around the NFL are confident that Lamb is still an elite wide receiver.

“With his ability to separate and make big plays, the attention he demands creates opportunities for others in the offense,” an NFC scout said, per Fowler. “He’s still on the short list of guys who give you problems consistently.”

Now that Lamb is fully healthy, he should return to his dominant ways in 2026.

“I expect him to have a bounce-back year,” an NFL coordinator said. “He was never quite the same [last year] off that ankle injury.”

Meanwhile, Pickens had a breakout season in Dallas that vaulted him onto the list. Some around the NFL even believe that Pickens is the new WR1 in Dallas ahead of Lamb.

“One of the best I’ve ever seen at the contested catch,” a veteran NFL offensive coach said. “There’s such untapped ability there. It’s just a consistency issue and where his head’s at week to week.”

The Cowboys certainly have all the firepower they need on offense.

It will be exciting to see if Dallas can make a deep playoff run this fall thanks to their high-octane passing attack.
