Bryson Graham is just like most Bulls fans with immediate reaction to lottery luck
So far, this offseason has been good for the Chicago Bulls. On Sunday, they locked in the No.4 pick in the NBA Draft Lottery at the famed Navy Pier in Chicago.
Obviously, the person most ecstatic, along with Bulls fans, was their new executive, Bryson Graham. Sitting in the front row, Graham saw his first week on the job as Executive VP of Basketball Operations come to a magical end.
Going in, the Bulls were expected to get a top 10 pick. But, they have a 4.5% chance of getting a top-four pick. As the Lottery went along, the Bulls moved up five spots to secure the coveted No.4 pick.
Afteward, Graham’s reaction mirrored that of many Bulls fans, filled with excitement and shock at the sheer luck, per Elias Schuster of Sports Illustrated.
“I almost fainted,” Graham said after the Lottery concluded.
Now begins the daunting task of deciding who their top 4 pick will be. According to ESPN’s NBA Mock Draft, the top four picks are: AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, and Caleb Wilson.
Graham is taking over a franchise that is beginning a total overhaul. It began with the early April firings of VP Artūras Karnišovas and GM Marc Eversley. Then the Bulls saw head coach Billy Donovan step down. Already, Graham has struck a different tone by prioritizing player development, versatility, and long-term building.
The Bulls will receive two top-15 first-round picks. Meanwhile, the search remains on for a new coach and general manager.
The 2026 NBA Draft is scheduled for June 23 to 24 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
