Brighton vs Everton predictions

Brighton go into this weekend 12th three points behind Everton in 10th and there’s not much difference between a top six push and a potential finish toward the bottom of the table.

The Toffees are only three points behind Liverpool in sixth and the Seagulls aren’t doing poorly but have only won once in their last five.

Current form

The Seagulls lost last time out to Fulham after two late goals from the Cottagers, where Harry Wilson netted the winner in the 92nd minute.

Brighton were ahead inside the half hour mark thanks to Yasin Ayari and they’ve looked in great unbeaten form prior to that loss, with wins over Man United and Burnley along with key draws against West Ham, Man City and Bournemouth.

Everton are having a similar bout of draws along with an impressive victory over Aston Villa a couple of weeks ago.

Their 4-2 loss at home to Brentford was surprising though a rare time they’ve conceded more than two in a single game especially at home.

Everton have won both of the last two meetings between these sides including in January of last year also away from home.

Brighton beat Everton in consecutive January’s in 2022 and 2023 – beating them at Goodison Park on both occasions 3-2 and 4-1.

In May 2023 Everton returned the favour though winning 5-1 at the Amex so this game can’t be ruled out from being another goal fest.

The last three have ended in either side winning to nil, but the prior five ended with both teams scoring including two 1-1 draws in the 2023/24 season.

Welbeck back amongst the goals?

Danny Welbeck has already scored eight goals in just 22 appearances this season and looks set to bypass last year’s tally of ten goals.

The English forward can often find the back of the net against the Toffees with five goals and five assists but he’s faced them a staggering 19 times already.

He scored and assisted in their 3-0 win away from home in the 2024/25 season.

The Toffees don’t really have one player to rely on this season in terms of goals, but rather an array of them to score a handful, including Thierno Barry, Iliman Ndiaye, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Michael Keane.
