Brewers’ Trevor Megill goes full NSFW after ugly outing vs. Blue Jays

Any MLB player would say that bad games are inevitable and they would prefer such games to occur early in the season, not in October. Nonetheless, off-nights are frustrating to deal with all the same. On Tuesday, Trevor Megill’s frustrations bubbled over to the surface after he blew a 4-3 lead for the Milwaukee Brewers, allowing the Toronto Blue Jays to score three runs in the ninth inning en route to an eventual 9-7 loss in extra innings.

Megill emerged as an elite presence in the bullpen last season, recording 30 saves for the Brewers while recording a 2.49 ERA across 47.0 innings of work. This year, however, hasn’t been very kind to the 32-year-old. He entered the night with an ERA of 11.25, and he’s coming off a game in which he allowed four runs while failing to record a single run in a 7-3 loss to the Washington Nationals.

The hits keep on coming for Megill, and he expressed his frustrations in NSFW fashion in an interview with reporters following the Brewers’ loss on Tuesday.

“Just some dogs**t out there. That’s about it. Pitches can be a lot better. Pitch execution can be a lot better. A lot of things can be better,” Megill said, via David Gasper of Cold Brew Podcast.

The good news is that this looks to be an aberration from Megill. Having rough games like this back-to-back can be demoralizing, but he’s performed well for most of the past three seasons, so the Brewers have to be confident in his ability to bounce back.

Some say that the first step to improvement is awareness. Megill, at the very least, is hyper-aware of his faults. The drop in average fastball velocity can be worrying, but it’s early days in the 2026 MLB regular season, and there is plenty of time for the Brewers closer to figure it out moving forward.
