Brewers pitcher Kyle Harrison reveals what’s changed since leaving Giants
The Milwaukee Brewers watched Kyle Harrison turn a matchup vs. his former organization into another strong statement Tuesday night. The left-hander dominated the San Francisco Giants in an 8-3 win at American Family Field, giving Milwaukee another reason to believe his breakout is becoming one of the season’s biggest rotation developments.
Harrison allowed four hits, one earned run, and two walks over 5.2 innings while striking out 12. The performance matched his season high and helped push the Brewers to a season-best 16 games over .500.
The outing also strengthened the southpaw’s growing NL Cy Young case. Through 11 starts, he owns a 7-1 record, a 1.57 ERA, 73 strikeouts, and a 1.03 WHIP across 57.1 innings.
Fox Sports 920’s Hunter Baumgardt shared the postgame exchange Tuesday on X, formerly Twitter, after asking the 24-year-old pitcher about the difference between his current form and his time with the Giants.
“Brewers P Kyle Harrison describes the difference he sees in himself now compared to when he was with the Giants a year ago
Is his confidence higher? ‘100%.'”

Harrison explained that he has not entirely changed who he is on the mound. Instead, he pointed to cleaner mechanics and greater consistency as the foundation behind his leap.
“It’s still somewhat the same pitches, still got that edge to me, but I’m just doing the little stuff to clean up the mechanics, just try to keep it more consistent.”
He then was asked whether that work had raised his confidence:
“100%.”
The answer fit the night. Harrison attacked the zone, missed bats, and kept his former club uncomfortable while the Brewers’ offense gave him enough support.
The Brewers acquired Harrison from the Boston Red Sox in February after the Giants traded him in the Rafael Devers deal in 2025. Now, Milwaukee has watched that move become a major win for its rotation and another step toward October during a meaningful stretch.
