Brewers’ Pat Murphy shares huge Jacob Misiorowski injury update

The Milwaukee Brewers mystify people with their ability to consistently build a competitive baseball team despite having limited financial resources and only a couple of household names. But the foundation of their success is easy to see. Top-notch pitching enables the Brew Crew to frequently begin games on stable ground, which in turn has a favorable effect on the lineup. If the ace of the staff suffers a serious injury, the franchise’s whole model could start to crack. Luckily, Jacob Misiorowski appears to be doing alright after exiting Friday night’s game.

“Cautiously optimistic would probably be a good way to describe {manager} Pat Murphy’s view of Miz’s status,” Brewers beat writer Todd Rosiak posted on X. “They need to see him go through a normal day of work but, ‘I think he’s going to be fine,’ Murphy said.”

The 6-foot-7, right-handed phenom tossed 5 1/3 hitless innings against the Washington Nationals before leaving with a right hamstring cramp. Milwaukee cruised to a 6-1 road victory, but there was obviously some concern. Murphy’s optimism should ease any anxiety for the time being.

Misiorowski is picking up where he left off in 2025, amazing the masses with his blazing fastball and impressive composure. He has a 2.84 ERA through 38 innings pitched and leads MLB with 59 strikeouts. The 24-year-old still needs to lower his walk rate — 10.7 percent through 22 career starts — but he is already one of the most electric and effective hurlers in the sport.

Although the Brewers (17-14) do not want to halt his momentum, they will not take unnecessary risks with his health. Jacob Misiorowski will try to go through his regular routine unabated and prepare for his next start.
