Best DFS picks for Ravens vs Patriots in Week 16

The 11-3 New England Patriots travel to Baltimore on Sunday night to take on the 7-7 Ravens. The home team gets the 2.5-point Vegas edge, but this matchup looks like it should be close, as the Ravens’ have gotten healthier and have shown upticks both offensively and defensively of late, while the Patriots have suffered some key defensive injuries.

Below we will take a look at the best DFS plays for this Sunday night showdown.

Captain’s Picks

Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens (FLEX $12,200, CPT $18,300)

Jackson appears to be getting healthier, as he’s been more successful on a per rush basis over the last two weeks. The Ravens are in must-win territory right now and as long as Jackson isn’t too hampered by his injuries, he should be more apt to run in an important game that they need for a shot at the playoffs. Last week he wasn’t pushed by the Bengals, so wasn’t needed to do all that much after they got out to a decent lead. This week the game will likely be much closer,

Derrick Henry, RB, Ravens (FLEX $13,000, CPT $19,500)

Henry and the Ravens haven’t really gotten going consistently this season, but we saw glimpses last week as he easily picked up chunk yardage, averaging 10 yards per carry. The Patriots have been tough against running backs this year, but with LB Robert Spillane out this week and DL Milton Williams out over the last month, I’m more than happy to let the “Big Dog” eat. Chase Brown, Devin Singletary, and James Cook have all topped 100 total yards against them over the last three weeks.

TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Patriots (FLEX $11,400, CPT $17,100)

This is just a bet on “Big Play Tre” hitting a couple home runs like he did last week, albeit in a better matchup for running backs. He’s still splitting work with Rhamondre Stevenson, who has been the preferred receiving back when healthy. As you can see below, I like Stevenson in this matchup, but there’s no doubt Henderson is the guy who can put up big numbers fast.

Value flex plays

Keaton Mitchell, RB, Ravens (FLEX $4,000, CPT $6,000)

Mitchell, like Henderson is a home run hitter, but he just doesn’t get enough touches to count on. Thankfully in DFS we can play someone like Mitchell in tournaments, and due to their price to roster he doesn’t need to put up huge numbers to be worth it.

Kayshon Boutte, WR, Patriots (FLEX $7,400, CPT $11,100)

Boutte has been the ultimate boom-bust receiver this season with five games at WR24 or better vs. seven games of WR57 or worse. The good news is that he’s seeing the most snaps he’s seen all season, but unfortunately his target numbers remain weak. Last week against the Bills he only had one target, but caught it for 30 yards. And he does have five touchdowns over his last six healthy games.

Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, TEAM (FLEX $8,600, CPT $12,900)

The Ravens have been giving to receiving backs this year, as they’ve allowed the third-most receiving yards to them. Stevenson remains the preferred passing down and goal line back and led the backfield in snaps last week. I could see throwing him in the captain’s slot this week.
