Ben Stiller gets A24, HBO Knicks docuseries greenlit after NBA Championship win
The New York Knicks are getting a docuseries treatment thanks to Ben Stiller.
Stiller was a guest on Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart’s The Roommates Show, where he gave the NBA champions an exclusive on his new project.
“I did say ‘Knicks in 26,’” he told Brunson and Hart on his podcast Wednesday, June 17.
“Obviously I’ve been shooting some stuff on my phone,” he continued, as the actor is often seen courtside with his phone out. “But it’s going to be about all eras of the Knicks, and this team obviously, there’s a culmination here, of something that’s been going on for a long time. It’s super exciting. It’s great to have had all this access to your team. We’re going to probably be shooting a little bit more during next season, and I’m going to hit you guys up for some interviews. It’s going to be over the next year that we’ll be working on it,” he told the hosts. “A lot of people have wanted to make it happen for a long time.”
Stiller also shared the news on his X account with a photo from the NBA Finals in which the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the series and ended the 53-year drought for the franchise.
“Couldn’t be more excited to make this doc with @a24 and @hbo about the NY KNICKS!!!!,” Stiller posted on X, adding “#LETSGOKNICKS.”

The official synopsis of the project reads, “The series will “trace the full arc of the franchise from the ’90s to the improbable, record-breaking run that finally returned a championship to New York.”
According to A24, the series will offer “unprecedented NBA access, never-before-seen footage, and a definitive look at one of basketball’s most iconic stories.”
Following the Knicks win, Stiller got the opportunity to hang out with the team in the locker room. When asked how he felt about the Knicks’ win after the game, he responded, “As happy as I’ve ever felt. It’s pretty amazing.”
The release date for the film has not yet been revealed.
