Bayern Munich teammate gives two-word Michael Olise transfer update amid Real Madrid interest

Dayot Upamecano has stressed that Michael Olise will not be leaving Bayern Munich this summer.

Since leaving Crystal Palace for Bayern in 2024, the winger has turned into one of the best talents across world football.

Olise is on 42 goals and 54 assists in 107 appearances at club level, and starring for France at the World Cup with six assists in five matches.

The 24-year-old has therefore unsurprisingly been linked with a move to arguably the biggest club on the planet, Real Madrid.

When president Florentino Perez vowed to make an offer of around £130million for a player, Olise was quickly speculated as a target.

However, Madrid released a statement to clarify that they have not had contact with the player or his representatives over a deal.

Olise has a contract at Bayern that runs until 2029 and, according to his teammate Upamecano, an exit is not on the cards.

“There are a lot of rumours about Olise and Real Madrid,” a reporter asked Upamecano after France beat Paraguay 1-0 on Saturday.

“Have you ever spoken to him and said, ‘Mate, make sure you stay at Bayern?'”

With a grin, Upamecano replied: “He’s staying, for sure. He’s staying.”

Madrid making big summer moves

July may have just begun, but it’s already been an excellent transfer window for Madrid.

Four key signings have come through the doors at the Bernabeu, with Marc Cucurella being their big-name arrival thus far.

The left-back has completed a £51m move from Chelsea, where he spent four seasons after signing from Brighton.

Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva have also joined on free transfers from Liverpool and Manchester City respectively.

On Sunday, Madrid announced the signing of Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan, in a move reportedly worth £17m.

Enzo Fernandez had also been linked with a move, but Madrid have claimed that they have ‘no intention’ of buying the Chelsea star.

Fernandez previously flirted with the prospect of joining, and was sanctioned by former head coach Liam Rosenior.

However, his Chelsea future remains up in the air, with Madrid not keen on bringing the Argentina international to Spain.
