Barcelona vs Osasuna prediction
Barcelona will be seeking a seventh consecutive La Liga win when they face Osasuna on Saturday.
The Catalans have bounced back superbly from their underwhelming 2-1 defeat away to Real Madrid on Matchday 10.
They finished that weekend five points adrift of their bitter rivals at the top of the table. However, thanks to their good form (and Real’s subsequent slump), Barça have turned that deficit into a four-point lead.
Since the loss to Real, Hansi Flick’s team have recorded wins over Elche (3-1), Celta (4-2), Athletic Club (4-0), Alaves (3-1), Atletico (3-1) and last weekend, Real Betis (5-3).
Barça have scored an impressive 22 goals in the six matches. But they are still conceding too many, with only one clean sheet in that sequence of results
In midweek the Catalans registered a 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League. Jules Kounde got both the goals as Hansi Flick’s team turned around a 1-0 half-time deficit to secure the win that keeps them in contention for a top-eight finish.
Although, they still have some work to do if they are to avoid the need of a two-legged playoff to get into the Round of 16.
Osasuna are at the wrong end of the table. After enjoying a positive 2024/25 campaign that saw them finish just outside the European places, this season has relegation dog-fight written all over it.
Los Rojillos began Matchday 16 sitting 15th in the table on just 15 points. They are too close to the bottom three for comfort, and have only begun to pull away thanks to picking up four points from their last two matches.
Indeed, Monday’s 2-0 win over Levant ended a run of six matches without a win, a sequence of games that yielded just two points. It was also only their second victory in their previous 11 outings.
A win and a draw from their last two matches is a vast improvement on their recent form. However, only time will tell if Alessio Lisci’s side have finally turned the corner or not.
Barcelona vs Osasuna betting tips
Barcelona are enjoying a good run of form. They kick off a day before Real Madrid, so have the chance to temporarily extend the gap at the top of the table to seven points, piling more pressure onto Xabi Alonso and his out-of-sorts team. Our Barcelona vs Osasuna tips follow:
Stats point to Barça covering the -1 handicap again
We can’t see anything other than another win for Barcelona. However, the Catalans are just 1/5 to win in the match betting market, and as sure as we are of a Barça win, that’s just too short to back.
The Catalans have been scoring plenty of goals and winning by clear daylight recently. They have won five of their last six La Liga matches by two goals and the other one by four.
It’s worth backing them to continue this form against lowly opposition that doesn’t score many goals. This brings the European handicap market into play.
Barcelona are 1/2 to win from a -1 start and 11/9 to win from -2. We think -1 looks like the safest play with this match coming off the back of a tough Champions League fixture in midweek.
A win by two clear goals for Barça will see this wager do the business.
Bet on Barça (-1) to win on the European handicap at 1/2 with 247Bet
Game-changing Rashford
After a slow start to his career in Spain, Marcus Rashford is gradually starting to win fans and pundits of his new club over.
The on-loan striker has six assists in La Liga according to the official website. That means only Lamine Yamal has more in the league.
On Tuesday when Barcelona were struggling at 1-0 down to Eintracht Frankfurt, Rashford was introduced from the bench at half-time. Within five minutes he had swung in a superb cross for Jules Koundé to head home the equaliser.
Rashford’s game-changing qualities have since been praised by many at the Camp Nou, and the Englishman must now be feeling ten-feet tall and like he’s finally become an integral part of the squad.
We can see Rashford being rewarded for his contribution in Europe with a start against Osasuna.

A rare Barca clean sheet
Osasuna have scored just three goals on the road this season. Two of those came against lowly-Mallorca two weeks ago. The other came on Matchday 5 in a 2-1 defeat at Villarreal.
Los Rojillos have been awful on the road. They have lost six and drawn two. They have failed to score in six of their eight matches.
Barcelona gives up plenty of chances. They have conceded in ten of their last 11 in La Liga. It’s this record that’s probably propping up the odds on ‘No’ in both teams to score.
This bet comes down to a straight fight between a leaky home defence and a shot-shy team on the road.
Surely the Catalans must be due a clean sheet. They are at home after all. At odds against, we’re backing them to get one this weekend.
