Avalanche star Cale Makar’s return to practice confirmed by reporter’s hilarious amateur graphic
There was a beautiful sight on the ice for the Colorado Avalanche on Monday, as star defenseman Cale Makar was spotted back joining the Avs for a full practice.
There was visual proof of this as well, with play-by-play announcer Marc Moser sharing a photo of Makar working with the team. Moser used his artistic skills to highlight Makar in the photo.

Makar has missed six consecutive games since suffering an upper-body injury during an Avalanche home game against the Calgary Flames at Ball Arena in Colorado on March 30. He had three assists in that game and missed the entire third period of Colorado’s 9-2 victory.
The Avalanche have three more games left to play in the 2025-26 NHL regular season, but they don’t have to rush Makar back to action to play in any of those outings. They have already clinched the Presidents’ Trophy when they ensured that they will finish the season with the most points in the league’s standings with a 3-1 win over the Flames at home on Thursday.
The 27-year-old Makar is expected to be on the Avs’ lineup for the 2026 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, but it is still possible for Colorado to let him play at least one game before the postseason begins.
In any case, there is no denying the important role Makar plays on the Avalanche. The two-time Norris Trophy winner is third on the team with 75 points on the strength of 20 goals and 55 assists. He is also fifth in the league among defensemen entering Monday in terms of points.
