Asante Samuel immediately hits Patriots’ A.J. Brown with NSFW trash talk after Eagles trade

The New England Patriots got better this week, as they were finally able to acquire A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles. For some time, it always felt like when, not if, Brown was getting traded to the Patriots, and it happened at the time that many people expected.

The writing seemed to be on the wall for Brown with the Eagles last season when he would go to the media and share his complaints about the offense, just for nothing to barely change when they got out on the field. Even when the Eagles were successful, Brown still shared his grievances with the way the offense was playing.

Some would think that it had a lasting effect on the team, and a former NFL player had his thoughts about Brown. Asante Samuel went on social media and had a few words for the wide receiver.

“AJ Brown wouldn’t be able to handle my mouth in practice. He would have been left Philly fucking with me,” Samuel wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Samuel was known as a trash talker back in his time, and he may have given Brown a hard time on the field. At the same time, Brown is a competitor, and he would have been up for the challenge.

Brown is now focused on his new team, and it still feels like a dream to him when it was made official.

“Trying to adjust and walking up the hill with the uniform on, I was like, ‘Man, this is real.’ Caught myself at one point in practice, I wasn’t paying attention because I was like, ‘Damn, I’m a Patriot.’ Just trying to take it all in as much as I can… And like I said, I’m enjoying it. I know this ain’t heaven, but it’s close to it,” Brown said.
