Angels’ Mike Trout declines to ‘even talk about’ swirling trade rumors
The Mike Trout trade rumors are beginning once again. It seems to happen every season at this point. With Trout playing well this season, the rumors could be even more discussed before the trade deadline. While a Trout trade still seems unlikely, it is not necessarily completely out of the question. Trout, however, has no interest in even discussing the idea.
“I haven’t even thought about any of that. I’m not even going to talk about the trade stuff,” Trout said recently, via HaloTerritory. “… I haven’t even thought about it.”
MLB fans want to see Trout in the postseason once again. He only has one playoff appearance, something he accomplished in 2014 with the Halos. Trout only appeared in three postseason contests, however. The Angels have not reached the playoffs since the ’14 campaign.
It seems that Mike Trout’s best opportunity of reaching the postseason would be by requesting a trade. He has remained loyal to the Angels throughout his career, though. It remains to be seen if Trout would even consider asking for a deal. For now, he says he has not even thought about it.
Overall, Trout is hitting just .233 in 2026, but he has a strong .877 OPS and 12 home runs. He has stolen five bases as well. He’s endured ups and downs in recent years — between both injuries and underperformance — but Trout has played in 50 of the Angels’ 51 games and he’s playing well in 2026.
Mike Trout and the Angels will begin a three-game series with the Texas Rangers on Friday night at 9:38 PM EST in Anaheim.
