Angel Reese channeling LeBron James at Dream training camp

The Atlanta Dream started training camp this week as they get prepared to have another big season. With the addition of Angel Reese, the hope is that they can get further than they did last season, and she is ready to put on for her new team. During her press conference, it was obvious that she was excited to be with the Dream, and during media availability at training camp, she reiterated her excitement.

“Can’t believe this is my life,” Reese said via ESPN’s Kendra Andrews.

Reese got into her LeBron James bag with that quote, as everyone remembers the meme of him saying that he couldn’t believe this was life. The funny thing was that this was shortly after he had lost in the NBA Finals.

Reese now gets the opportunity to play with other top players such as Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray, and she’s already seeing what they can do for her when she’s on the court.

“The paint is wide-open … everyone is on Lish and on Rhye, so it opens up the floor and makes the job easier for me,” Reese said.

The Dream’s frontcourt was a big part of their success last season, and things will only get better with Reese in the fold alongside Brionna Jones and Naz Hillmon. With guards like Jordin Canada and Te-Hina Paopao, Reese will get some good looks as well.

“Angel’s gonna help us a lot more than I’m gonna help Angel, she’s such a talented player,” Karl Smesko said.

For now, the Dream will be using training camp to figure out how to effectively use Reese and how she can best fit with the team. It doesn’t seem like it should be that challenging with the type of player she is, but the more reps she has with her teammates, the better.
