Alex Cora’s ‘reply all’ email to every member of Red Sox organization after firing

After the Boston Red Sox fired former manager Alex Cora Saturday, Cora decided to send an e-mail to the entire organization. That e-mail was apparently short and sweet. It was also a reply all note, after Red Sox management had initially announced the change at manager.

“The Cora’s will be OK,” Cora said with a winking face emoji, per MassLive.

Cora and a slew of other Red Sox coaches were fired Saturday, following Boston’s blowout win over the Baltimore Orioles. That move sent shock waves throughout Major League Baseball.

Boston is out to a rough 10-17 start to the year. Cora, who had a successful tenure overall with the franchise, had been plotted against by Red Sox management. It ultimately led to his firing.

“Boston entered Saturday tied for last in the majors in home runs (15), last in slugging percentage (.335), last in wRC+ (78) and 21st in runs scored (112). The starting rotation, considered the team’s strength with the reigning AL Cy Young runner-up Garrett Crochet in the No. 1 slot, was 27th in ERA (5.31), 27th in FIP (4.96) and 22nd in innings pitched (127),” ESPN reported.

The good news for Cora is that he may not be unemployed for long. Some MLB insiders believe the Philadelphia Phillies could be working to bring Cora in, especially since he has a relationship with the Phillies president of baseball operations.

Boston is in last place this season in the American League East. On Sunday, the Red Sox are eight games behind the New York Yankees, who lead the division.

The Red Sox are playing the Orioles again on Sunday afternoon. Boston is now led by interim manager Chad Tracy. Time will tell if Cora gets another job as manager soon.
