Alarm clock jokes pour in after another Royals’ Carter Jensen home run

Kansas City Royals catcher Carter Jensen made headlines when he was infamously scratched from the lineup due to oversleeping. But now he’s giving Kansas City fans another reason to remember his name.

While the Royals came up short 2-1 in their Tuesday matchup against the Cleveland Guardians, Jensen hit a home run for the second straight game. Fans acted accordingly by reacting with plenty of alarm clock jokes.

“That extra sleep did him good!,” Retail Investor Guy posted on X, formerly Twitter.

“See what happens when you set your alarm clock!” SoxIsKing added.

“He woke up!” Baseball enjoyer wrote.

Both Jensen and the Royals are hoping to quickly move past the oversleeping incident. Still only 22-years-old, the catcher has plenty to learn at the major league level. He has now learned one lesson the hard way and was forced to take the backlash publicly.

However, Jensen has been able to block out the noise and bounce back from his blunder. After his home run on Tuesday, the catcher is now batting .259 with three home runs and six RBIs through his first 10 games of 2026.

Still ranked as the No. 1 prospect in Kansas City’s organization, and the 15th-best in all of baseball, via MLB Pipeline, the Royals have high hopes for Jensen’s long-term potential. He showed off a taste of what he can do in 2025, hitting .300 with three home runs and 13 RBIs over his first 20 major league games.

Jensen has now found his power stroke and will look to keep his momentum moving forward. He’ll also be triple checking his alarm clocks.
