A Super Bowl win could be the second-best thing to happen to TreVeyon Henderson this year

As TreVeyon Henderson prepares for the Super Bowl, he is sure to look back on how successful 2025 has been.

2025 is his first year in the league, after being selected 28th overall by the New England Patriots in the 2025 NFL Draft.

He enjoyed a very successful college career with Ohio State, with over 3,700 rushing yards and 853 receiving yards in his four years there.

In just his third-game as a Buckeye, he broke Archie Griffin’s freshman single-game rushing record, with 277 yards from 24 carries and three touchdowns.

His first season with the Patriots has been nothing short of a success.

The 23-year-old rushed for 911 yards with 11 touchdowns, and also racked up 35 receptions for 221 receiving yards, which saw him named as a finalist for Rookie of the Year.

However, he hasn’t been able to carry over his regular-season success into the playoffs.

In three games, Henderson has gained just 57 yards on 24 carries, an average of 2.4 yards per rush.

He’s also been targeted only three times by quarterback Drake Maye, totaling seven scoreless yards.

As New England look to begin their new dynasty under Mike Vrabel and former UNC starMaye, the Super Bowl might be the second best thing to happen to the rookie running back this season.

Early in his NFL career, Henderson announced that he had gotten engaged with his fiancee earlier, whose name he is keeping under wraps.

The photo, posted on Instagram, showed Henderson smiling wide next to his fiancee, who was showing off the ring.

The caption read: “’Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.’ Proverbs‬ ‭31‬:‭30‬ ‭💍.”

The announcement photo also showed a lit-up block letter sign reading ‘marry me’, and dozens of red-rose petals scattered on the ground.

The running back has opted to keep his personal life out of the public eye, instead sharing insight into his football career and Christian faith.

The announcement came after his NFL debut, in which he rushed for 27 yards and caught six-receptions totalling 24 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders would defeat the Patriots by a score of 20-17, just one of two defeats they would suffer throughout the entirety of the regular season.

The other coming in the Week 15 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, losing by a score of 35-31.

The Patriots have strided through the playoffs with relative ease, with comfortable wins over the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans and a slightly tighter affair in the snow against the Denver Broncos.
