98th Academy Awards Nominations Announced - Full List for 2025

The complete list of nominees for the 98th Academy Awards, the most prestigious award in Hollywood, have been announced today (from Oscars.org). The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the nominees via live broadcast. The nominations from 2025 are, as expected, an exciting and confident collection of most of the best movies of the year. What a vibrant set of nominees! Ryan Coogler's Sinners set a new record with a grand total of 16 nominations this year, topping La La Land and Titanic (which had 14). It looks like The Academy also fell hard for Sentimental Value, giving it a grand total of 9 nominations including Best Director. And the wonderful Train Dreams also ended up with plenty, but sadly they cut out The Testament of Ann Lee entirely with nothing. The Academy chose a total of ten Best Picture nominees from 2025, including: Bugonia, F1, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, Sinners, Train Dreams, and of course One Battle After Another (also my #1 of the year).
