76ers’ VJ Edgecombe Technical prompts skirmish with Magic as things get chippy

The Philadelphia 76ers are hosting the Orlando Magic during Wednesday night’s NBA Play-In game. In a contest that has been hard to watch at times, things got a little spicy during the third quarter.

With the 76ers leading 71-62, Paul George got a steal and found VJ Edgecombe for a transition bucket. After the rookie finished at the rim, he essentially dog-walked Magic guard Jalen Suggs almost into the stands.

Both men would be separated as players from both teams began pushing and shoving. Edgecombe ultimately received a technical foul, with Suggs knocking down the free throw.

The game has been very physical throughout. With the fourth quarter remaining, there have already been multiple double technicals assessed to different players.

Philadelphia leads 79-74 after three quarters.

The winner of this game will head to Boston to face the Celtics in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. The loser will host the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night. The winner of that game will earn the No. 8 seed and a date with the Detroit Pistons.
