2027 WR picks Texas A&M over Michigan, Oregon, Auburn
Las Vegas (Nev.) Arbor View wide receiver Damani Warren on Friday evening announced his commitment to Texas A&M, strengthening the nation’s top-ranked 2027 recruiting class. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound pass catcher selected the Aggies over finalists Michigan and Oregon after also drawing interest from Auburn, UCLA and USC during his recruitment.
Warren becomes Texas A&M’s 24th commitment in the 2027 class and the third wide receiver to join the group. His decision continues the Aggies’ momentum on the recruiting trail as head coach Mike Elko looks to build on a season that ended with the program’s first appearance in the College Football Playoff.
A central figure in Warren’s recruitment was offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins, whose relationship with the Nevada standout played a huge role in the commitment. Texas A&M remained heavily involved in his recruitment for nearly a year. Warren first visited College Station for the Aggies’ 2025 matchup against Auburn at Kyle Field, returned for a spring practice in March, and ended the process with an official visit during the weekend of June 5, which helped solidify his decision.
Warren is listed as the No. 413 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking and the No. 56 receiver in the 247Sports Composite. He is also rated among Nevada’s top prospects, including rankings as high as No. 2 and No. 4 in the state.
Warren’s size, body control and reliable hands headline his skill set. He consistently uses his 6-foot-4 frame to win contested catches, runs polished routes and creates separation with an explosive first step rather than elite long speed. His catch radius, physicality and ability to produce after the catch make him a difficult matchup, while his effectiveness in the vertical passing game adds another dimension to his profile. Though injuries have slowed his development in recent seasons, he possesses significant long-term upside.
