2027 CB picks Kentucky over Colorado, Georgia Tech
The Kentucky Wildcats on Wednesday secured a commitment from 2027 three-star cornerback Miguel Wilson out of Vigor High School in Mobile, Alabama. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound defensive back chose Kentucky over multiple Power 4 programs, including Colorado, Georgia Tech, NC State, and West Virginia.
Wilson is currently ranked No. 882 overall nationally, the No. 83 cornerback in the 2027 cycle, and the No. 31 prospect in Alabama according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He also holds a 0.8650 rating in the 247Sports Composite, where he is listed as the nation’s No. 87 cornerback.
The Alabama native put together a productive junior season at Vigor, finishing with 56 total tackles, four interceptions, four pass deflections, and two forced fumbles, per MaxPreps. He led the secondary in tackles while consistently creating turnovers. Vigor won 12 games during the 2025 season and was ranked No. 33 in Alabama in the Rivals Composite team rankings.
Wilson, who also competes in track, recently impressed at The Opening event in New Orleans in late March. Despite strong performances from wide receivers overall, he stood out in coverage with solid footwork, maintaining leverage and breaking effectively on the ball.
His commitment comes during a campus visit and follows a re-offer from the Wildcats new coaching staff in January. Cornerbacks coach Allen Brown served as his primary recruiter. Wilson becomes the sixth pledge in Kentucky’s 2027 recruiting class, as well as the first Alabama prospect and the second defensive back, joining safety Larron Westmoreland from Louisville (Ky.) Jeffersontown.
Under new head coach Will Stein, the Wildcats have shown considerable improvement in recruiting. Kentucky’s 2027 class currently ranks No. 42 nationally and No. 12 in the SEC, a jump from last year’s finishes of No. 53 nationally and No. 16 in the conference. Wilson’s addition continues that upward trend as the program builds toward a stronger future roster.
