2027 ATH flips commitment from Oklahoma to Ole Miss

Another domino fell in favor of Ole Miss’ 2027 recruiting class as Central Tuscaloosa High School athlete Tra’Von Hall flipped his commitment from the Oklahoma Sooners to the Rebels on Saturday night. Hall had been pledged to Oklahoma since November 30, 2025, but his decision gives Ole Miss its 15th commitment in the 2027 cycle under head coach Pete Golding.

Hall’s recruitment gained momentum this spring as multiple programs pushed for his services, including the Rebels, Florida Gators, and LSU Tigers. He took an official visit to Florida on May 28 and recently visited Oxford during a crucial Ole Miss official visit weekend. He also had an Oklahoma official visit scheduled for June 12, though the trip reportedly may no longer be likely following his flip.

The three-star prospect is ranked No. 691 overall in the 2027 class by the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also listed as the No. 78 wide receiver nationally and the No. 25 player in the state of Alabama. Hall’s recruitment included offers from several Power 4 programs such as Alabama, Florida, LSU, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Cincinnati, and Colorado, along with Group of Five programs including Tulane, Memphis, Troy, Liberty, and Miami (Ohio).

On the field in the 2025 season, Hall showed two-way production. He recorded 41 carries for 519 yards and nine touchdowns as a runner, while also adding 25 receptions for 355 yards and two receiving touchdowns. His ability to contribute as both a wide receiver and running back has been an essential part of his evaluation.

Hall becomes the second wide receiver in Ole Miss’ 2027 class, joining New Orleans product Miguel Whitley. He also joins a class that includes prominent commitments such as defensive lineman Ben’Jarvius Shumaker, linebacker Jeremiah Culpepper, cornerback Taelyn Mayo, and quarterback Keegan Croucher, among others.

For Oklahoma, Hall’s departure is another blow to the 2027 receiver group. The Sooners lost him on the same day Demare Dezeurn flipped to Cal, leaving Oklahoma with Greydon Howell as their only wide receiver commit in the class.
