114-year-old home of storied franchise to host Conor McGregor’s bare-knuckle promotion

The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) is one month away from an event at the Home of the Boston Red Sox.

On August 29, the bare-knuckle promotion, which is co-owned by Conor McGregor, visits Boston’s iconic ballpark Fenway Park — MLB’s oldest stadium — for BKFC 92.

It is the first time BKFC, which heads to Manchester in September for Darren Till’s second outing, has ever had a fight card in Boston.

The four-roped ring will be positioned at Home Plate with seating running from first to third base for the promotion’s debut in Massachusetts.

‘If you blink, you’re going to miss it’

“This is a city of fighters and a city that doesn’t quit,” BKFC founder and president Dave Feldman said at the event’s launch press conference on Tuesday.

“That’s why it fits so well with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, which is why I’m so proud to bring this thing here.

“This will be the best combat sports event that Boston has ever seen. This is the fastest-paced combat sport on the planet; if you blink, you’re going to miss it.

“It’s relatable; everybody gets it. When you watch it, you’re going to be a fan for life, I promise you.”

BKFC featherweight world champion Kai Stewart defends his title for a record sixth time in the main event against New England combat sports standout Harry Gigliotti.

In the chief support act, Christine Ferea, nicknamed ‘The Queen of Violence,’ puts her BKFC women’s bantamweight belt on the line against Argentina’s Sofia Landi.

Furthermore, former UFC star Joe Lauzon, who bagged nine consecutive bonuses at the peak of his powers in Dana White‘s promotion, makes his BKFC debut against Stash Kuykendall.

“I’m so excited to fight at Fenway,” Lauzon said ahead of his first bout with no gloves.

“I’m excited about the entire thing. It’s a great feeling to be fighting at home.

“I’m going to try to get in and out as soon as possible. I’ve seen the damage that happens, and I don’t want to take any shots I don’t have to.

“I’m going to get in there and blitz.”

Main eventer Stewart added: “They don’t call me ‘The King’ for no reason.

“You guys let me break records at Hard Rock Live. I was the main event of the very first Dubai show as well and now, of course, the best venue we’ve done.

“Of course they’ll call me to do it. I’m ‘The King’ for a reason. God has blessed me so much to do this, and nobody can take it from me.

“I don’t see the talent up here that I guess locals see. I see a lot of people pretending. Harry is doing okay, but it’s just his second fight in the big leagues.”

Fenway Park is the oldest stadium in Major League Baseball, having opened its doors more than 100 years ago in 1912.

It has since become the crown jewel of all ballparks, largely due to its iconic Green Monster that makes up the left field wall.
